Homecoming Dress Up Days
Congratulations to Neil Patel for being selected to the Student Advisory Council.
October 2, 2026 – State School Superintendent Richard Woods has selected 84 Georgia students from 1,427 applicants to serve on his 2026-2027 Student Advisory Council. Throughout the school year, council members will meet with Superintendent Woods to share their experiences, discuss education-related issues, and provide feedback on how state policies affect students.
"Students can tell us firsthand how the decisions we make affect their learning and their plans for the future," Superintendent Woods said. "Their feedback helps us understand where we are making progress and where we need to do more. I look forward to getting to know this year's council members, hearing their ideas, and working together to strengthen educational opportunities across Georgia."
Council members will also serve as ambassadors for the Superintendent and complete service projects benefiting their schools and communities. These projects give students opportunities to put their ideas into action, develop leadership skills, and address needs they see around them.
Students in grades 10-12 were invited to apply and share their answers to two short essay questions inviting them to reflect on challenges in education, share experiences that shaped their perspectives, identify issues they would like to discuss with the Superintendent, and propose a service project.
The council represents students from across Georgia's Regional Educational Service Agency (RESA) regions, bringing perspectives from rural, suburban, and urban communities. Members are selected based on the strength of their application responses and the goal of ensuring representation from across the state. Multiple students from a school district may be selected.

GUEST REQUIREMENTS
Guests must be in at least 9th grade and no older than 20 years old.
All guest names must be submitted to Mrs. Wilbourn for administrative approval by October 14, 2026.
Guests who do not attend Miller County High School must have a completed guest application submitted to Mrs. Wilbourn for approval by October 14, 2026.
DRESS REQUIREMENTS
Dresses, including any slit or split, must extend below the fingertips.
The midriff must not be exposed. Two-piece dresses that expose the midriff are not allowed.
The back of the dress must not be cut below the waist. The front must not be cut too low, and front cutouts are not allowed. If you have questions about a dress, submit a photo to the front office for approval.
Masks or face coverings are not permitted.
MALE ATTIRE REQUIREMENTS
Acceptable attire includes a sports coat with dress pants, or a sweater/sweater vest with jeans or khaki pants.
Tennis shoes are allowed. NO work boots will be permitted.
Cowboy-style boots, loafers, and tuxedo shoes are allowed.
Masks or face coverings are not permitted.

We honored Miller County Legend Dr. Chris Holmes at the football game Friday night!
We are on Fall Break this week, but our Softball Team will be playing in Region Tournament. Games are played in Baconton if you can travel to support our Lady Pirates! Game 1 is tomorrow!
Homecoming Shirt order forms--if you would like to order you can print this order form and send with your student or you can come to the school to fill out a form and make payment. Orders are due October 13!
