Miller County Schools celebrated the completion of the first Miller County Youth Leadership Program with a banquet held on March 10, 2026. The program was created to help students develop leadership skills, build confidence, and learn how to make a positive impact in their school and community.

The leadership program was made possible through the support of Ameris Bank and the Colquitt Miller County Chamber of Commerce. Special appreciation was also given to Michael Kirkland of the ABAC Bainbridge Campus, who helped lead the program throughout the year and provided valuable insight and guidance to students.

Throughout the year, students participated in a variety of leadership activities including discussions on leadership principles, book study presentations, a leadership panel with community and state leaders, and interactive activities designed to build teamwork, communication, and decision making skills.
