Today, our very first Ameris Bank Youth Leadership 25-26 Cohort kicked off! Students spent the day with Dr. Michael Kirkland from ABAC, exploring personality types, leadership styles, and how to work better with others. We were also joined by Kate Cook from the Colquitt-Miller County Chamber of Commerce and Eira Plummer from Ameris Bank, our amazing sponsor. This is the first-ever leadership cohort at Miller County High School, and today’s session was just the start of an exciting journey!

After being accepted into the pilot program last fall, Miller County High School is continuing its partnership with the Smithsonian Institution. This semester, Economics students will partner with students from Mr. Nic Skinner's Freshman Honors Social Studies class in Beardstown, Illinois. The exchange program, called Democracy in Dialogue, is part of the 250th anniversary celebration and is privately funded by the Bezos Family Foundation.
