Christy Whitaker has been teaching at Miller County High School for several years. She teaches 9th Grade Language and Composition and 12 Grade British Literature.  Christy has served as the Senior Beta Club sponsor, Junior Class sponsor, and Senior Class sponsor in past years. Mrs. Whitaker is Advanced Placement and Gifted certified.  She received an Associate in Applied Science degree in Computer Information Systems in 2003 from Bainbridge State; she also graduated from Troy University in 2005 with cum laude honors and a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary English Education. Christy is the wife of Eddie Whitaker and the mother of Kaleb, Kameron, and Kelley.

12 Graders:

*Students have SAT and ACT wordlist each week (10 words).  They have been given a list for the remainder of the semester to have ahead of time for studying.

*They are to make notecards that include: definition, part of speech, a sentence, and a picture) per notecard.

*Notecards are graded on Thursday of each week.

*An SAT/ACT quiz is given every Friday.


9th Graders:

*Students have a spelling quiz each Thursday.  They have been give a spelling list that will take them throughout the entire year, so they do have these to study ahead of time in their binders.

*Students have a Daily Oral Language (DOL) every Friday.  They get the DOLs on Monday, so they have these for the entire week for study guides.
